About the Event
BECOME A YOGA INSTRUCTOR
The purpose of this 200hr programme is to provide a supportive environment in which you begin to connect with your inner teacher, your internal wisdom, and your authentic voice. Through pranayama, asana practise, mind-body journaling, group conversation, reading, and guided meditation, you will practice the essential process of conscious listening to your own higher self.
COURSE CONTENT OVERVIEW
The training consists of...
(1) Developing all the ingredients for a safe and effective personal practice & how to share it
(2) Asana clinics - breaking down the poses of the Primary Series
(3) The science of sequencing in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
(4) The history and philosophy of modern and traditional Ashtanga Yoga
(5) Yoga off the mat - tools for transformation

To certify, you need to participate in all the course days (with prearranged exceptions), complete a written exam about yoga philosophy, history, and the poses and lead a one to one class.
DATES
This is an intensive training split over two parts consisting of 2 weeks each.
Part I: 6 - 17 May 2024 (option to stay until 18 May)
Part II: 16 - 27 September 2024 (option to stay until 28 September)
Training will be a half day on the first Monday of each part, then full days on weekdays and a half day on the Sunday afternoon. Saturday is a day off.
WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?
This training is designed for those who (a) want to deepen their own yoga self-practice and/or (b) who want to facilitate yoga in their community.
YOGA ALLIANCE ACCREDITED
This training is FULLY Yoga Alliance accredited and is countable toward the YA 300 & 500hr certification programs.
LOCATION & LANGUAGE
This training will take place at Estudio Yucca, a beautiful outdoor studio near the town of Tavira in the Algarve, Portugal. There is limited accommodation available through the venue, with other accommodation options nearby. Lunch can be provided at an additional cost. The course and the materials are in English.
